The water is exposed perfectly. If you use Photoshop CS I might try the shadow/highlight tool to bring out a few more details in the trees.

Added 3 new version to additional.

The 3rd one is kinda cartoony and looks like somthing out of a kids book.

I still prefer the original myself, but hey, never hurts to see what other stuff looks like.

Interesting!!

The first works ok but you may be right about preferring the original. I think the 1st alternative works ok too. I bet a B&W might be interesting also.
